The Teacher Education Department (TED), in collaboration with Bachelor of Education Alumni Association and Educator's Guild For Excellence (EdGE), held their seminar entitled “Check Ko ‘Yan!: Curriculum Review of Education Program with the Alignment of the DepEd Revised Integrated Curriculum” and themed “Empowering Minds, Shaping Hearts: A Guide Toward the Path,”  at CvSU Imus Campus Gymnasium, today, November 28, 2025.

The seminar aims to fortify future educators' current understanding of the curriculum implemented in the Philippine education sector.

TED Instructor and Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) Coordinator, Mr. Fernando L. Umali, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the significance of the seminar to the academic journey of future educators.

“Teaching is not about science; it’s art. Kaya nga po bilang mga aspiring educators, ang curriculum development po is not just about knowledge, but it is a skill that we must acquire throughout our academic journey para mas ma-develop natin ang tinatawag na—how we value curriculum development,” he said.

The guest speaker, Dr. Harris S. Malang—who holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Management and a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP)—highlighted his insights on curriculum alignment and its role in producing competent educators.

“Ang curriculum is only as strong as its alignment. Because if the curriculum is not aligned—katulad ng ating mga bone, katulad ng ating mga katawan—if it’s not aligned, what would happen? That’s why our curriculum should be aligned with the DepEd revised curriculum,” he said.

The seminar was designed to deepen educators' understanding of the current curriculum used in the education sector. With the presence of respected alumni, the event provided students with real-world insights, practical strategies, and professional experiences to assist them in their respective journeys.

Throughout the program, attendees—primarily Education students, actively engaged in discussions and collaborative tasks. [F]
