The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) places Cavite and several areas in Luzon under red alert on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, as Severe Tropical Storm Opong is expected to bring heavy rains, strong winds, flash floods, and landslides until it exits the Philippine Area Of Responsibility (PAR) on September 27, Saturday.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminds local government units to stay on high alert and be prepared for any eventuality.
Citizens are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and advisories from PAGASA as well as follow evacuation orders and other instructions from local authorities to ensure their safety.
Opong is forecast to make landfall in the Bicol Region on Friday morning or afternoon before moving across other parts of Southern Luzon from later that day until Saturday morning.
