The Booths That Stand Tall

It's crowded—the students’ voices are loud, and tables have been turned into booths to satisfy the crowd. The aroma of food drifts through the air as a crowd forms around display after display. To most, it is just another school celebration. But behind those who talk, cook, and sell are unheard stories they do not tell.
Ideas That Started Small
Photo booths, fuzzy wire flowers, custom bracelets and many more—everything we see was once an idea in someone's mind. Students really have such creative concepts that piques peoples’ interest, but behind the scenes, all of this takes huge amounts of time and painstaking effort to turn into reality.
In business, factors matter such as resources, finances and the constant chase of supply and demand matter. For some, following trends brings the profit, but for others, having originality and standing by it despite the risks of having lower sales. Their booths stand not only as businesses but it proves that creativity can flourish in competitive spaces.
More Than a Profit
In any marketplace, competition is inevitable. The day ends with booths that make more than the rest—a better profit, a larger impact. But numbers do not tell the whole story.
One student-merchant stated that booths do not only serve as a food stall or a place to purchase what appeals to us rather it is beneficial to both the seller and buyer.
“Para po sa’kin, mahalaga na mayroon tayong mga booths na ganito, ‘pag may mga event para hindi ganun ka-boring dahil na-e-enganyo sila, ayan may mga shows para ma-enjoy nila, beneficial din siya samin kasi may income,” she said.
The Purpose They Serve
Whether big or small, fancy or simple, trendy or unique, each booth serves a purpose. They are spaces where students can test their ideas and gain confidence in what they can create. Every product and every interaction is a story waiting to be heard.
As we walk through the next school event, may we stop and look a little closer. Behind every booth is someone’s inspiration that stood tall enough to be brought to life. [F]
